Cadillac unveils all-new 2020 CT5 Sedan | Landers Chevrolet Cadillac of Joplin
May 30, 2019
For over 100 years, Cadillac has been at the forefront of defining what a great luxury car should be. Now the brand long called The Standard of the World is redefining the segment yet again with the latest and greatest in their long line of beautiful, ulta-premium touring sedans: the 2020 Cadillac CT5. Unveiled at the recent New York International Auto Show, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 is a perfect mix of sculptural design, elegant refinement and pulse-quickening performance. In addition, the 2020 CT5 includes Cadillac’s latest technological advancement: Super Cruise, the world’s first truly hands-free driver assistance feature, a glimpse of the autonomous car future.
“The first-ever Cadillac CT5 showcases Cadillac’s unique expertise in crafting American luxury sedans,” said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president. “Its details elevate every drive and reward the senses.”
Externally, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 breaks new ground with a sleek new fastback design built around a gracefully-arched roof ending in an abbreviated trunk lid. The shape was borrowed from the revolutionary Escala concept car, and represents a bold new direction for the storied automaker, resulting in a profile that has a singular and striking presence whether on the road or sitting still.
“From every angle, the CT5 exudes athleticism, sophistication and confidence,” said Andrew Smith, executive director of global Cadillac design. “Cadillac’s signature hard-edge cues have evolved to a more sculptural and fluid expression of the brand’s design language.”
To accentuate that beautiful roofline and svelte curves while maximizing interior room, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 rides on a 116-inch wheelbase, with lengthened side glass to showcase the long, low profile. An all-LED headlight and tail light package emphasises Cadillac’s brand-wide “light blade” design architecture, while the shield-shaped front grille of refined mesh both mimics the Cadillac crest and makes a perfect first impression.
At launch the three trim levels of the CT5 will be: Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. Polished brightwork and unique grille treatments will distinguish between the Luxury and Premium Luxury models, while the CT5 Sport will feature dark-chrome accents, performance-inspired details, rocker extensions and a spoiler for increased aerodynamics, and standard 19-inch wheels in the same dark chrome polished look.
Bright exterior accents and unique grilles and fascias distinguish the CT5 Luxury and Premium Luxury models, while the Sport model is differentiated by darker accents and performance-inspired details, including unique grilles, fascias, rocker extensions, spoiler and standard 19-inch wheels4.
Inside, the CT5 will continue to impress, with beautiful details, Cadillac craftsmanship, and elegant materials choices. Up front, a high-definition 10-inch color touchscreen will keep you informed and in control. Premium Luxury and Sport Models will be available with a Platinum Package featuring a two-tone Saddle Tan and black motif, created from butter-soft semi-aniline leather with a customer perforation pattern and contrasting seat piping. The Platinum Package included standard heated, ventilated and lumbar massaging front seats with 18 way adjustability, along with leather-trimmed armrests and center console, carbon fiber trim, and magnesium paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
Providing refined and exhilarating power under the hood is the all-new 2.0-liter Twin-Scroll Turbo four-cylinder, or — for extra excitement — the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, backed by the smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic. Every 2020 CT5 will be outfitted with Cadillac’s all-wheel drive system, for surefooted handling no matter what the weather. As stated above, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 will also feature Cadillac’s groundbreaking Super Cruise system, which allows owners to drive hands-free on more than 130,000 miles of freeways in the U.S. and Canada. Operated via a LIDAR radar system, high-precision Global Positioning and a network of camera and radar sensors built right into the CT5, the system will soon be available on all Cadillac products.
“Cadillac is dedicated to building the world’s most exhilarating luxury sedans,” said Carlisle. “Every element of the CT5 is focused on delivering an unrivaled experience, from the 10-speed transmission to Cadillac’s Super Cruise technology. The expansion of Super Cruise to CT5 reinforces our commitment to bringing the most innovative technologies to our customers.”
The 2020 Cadillac CT5 will begin arriving on dealer lots this fall. Want to be one of the first in Southwest Missouri to own this incredible new touring sedan from Cadillac?
