Break out your fangs and light up the jack-o-lanterns. It’s that wonderful time of year – Halloween! October is full of hayrides, carnivals, haunted houses, and loading up on a bunch of candy. 6th Annual Shock-Tober Fest Open Cruise-In
1st and Main Street, Joplin, MO
October 21
5-8 p.m.
Go check out all the cool hot rods and motorcycles in downtown Joplin at the 6th Annual Shock-Tober Fest Open Cruise-In. It is hosted by JB’s 3rd Thursday Cruise-In. There will be a variety of suped-up cars, roadsters, trucks, 4×4 lifts, motorcycles, choppers, rat rods, race cars, and much more. Admission is free to the public and therewill be music, food, and local shopping.
Howl & Scream
Joplin Humane Society Animal Adoption & Resource Center

2-4 p.m.
For a howlin’ good time, join the Humane Society for their Howl and Scream Halloween event! Trunk or treat will take place around the walking trail and the costume contest starts at 3 p.m. There will be prizes for the scariest, funniest, and most creative costumes. For those who love java and Halloween, Starbucks will have a serving booth set up.

Enjoy the first night of Night Market of the year at Cauldrons and Cocktails Night Market hosted by Joplin Empire Market. It will be fun for the whole family with costume contests for adults and children. There will be plenty of food purveyors, delicious creepy cocktails and beer from Chaos Brewing Co to try. Take a tour of the Zombie Gardens to catch a glimpse at the zombie scarecrows, and be sure to check out the “weird” artisan vendors and their local products!
