Cadillac CELESTIQ: What we know so far

Early in 2021, Cadillac piqued our curiosity with the fascinating new, fully electric CELESTIQ tease. The sneak peek included the finer details, like what the CELESTIQ will be made out of and the Ultium Platform which the CELESTIQ would build its foundation on. At the beginning of June, Cadillac brought even more to the table with the new show car getting its own spotlight to show off its warm and playful cabin. More and more have been released throughout the rest of the month. We at Landers Chevrolet Cadillac of Joplin, Missouri thought it was time to talk about the new CELESTIQ show car and what we know about this inspiring new vehicle. Let’s talk about it.

The CELESTIQ is not in production at the moment, but that’s not to say it’ll never hit the streets. The Cadillac Lyriq started as an SUV concept, and now you can order a 2023 Cadillac Lyriq. The future has to begin someday. Why not now with the CELESTIQ? 

Cadillac Offers Glimpse of Ultra-Luxury Future with CELESTIQ

The CELESTIQ is set to be hand-crafted and hand-built. Just before Father’s Day, General Motors stated that its next investment will be over $81 million towards the construction of the CELESTIQ in Michigan. The GM Ultium Platform will be layered under the frame of the vehicle, offering the designers more flexibility in the front fascia and possible storage spaces to create a more detail-oriented vehicle. 

Cadillac CELESTIQ to be Built at GM’s Global Technical Center 

Raising the bar, the CELESTIQ exterior design is striking and eye-catching. It’s easy to see the show car’s delightful personality, even just from the shadowed glimpses we’ve been getting. For even more shine, Cadillac supplied the CELESTIQ with its signature lighting design. Alongside the captivating light design and sculpted exterior, the impressive vehicle will then offer the driver all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering. The all-wheel drive will offer any road to be conquered; the four-wheel steering will offer a tighter turn radius.

Cadillac CELESTIQ Show Car: Discovery and Fascination 

Within the last few days, Cadillac graciously offered more preview pictures, this time of the interior design. The cabin shown pops thanks to the ruby red color scheme that permeates throughout the entire car’s interior. The seat stitching design is intricate and comfortably contrasts with the rest of the sleek interior. Cadillac claims the interior is spacious to fit both the bold, innovating technology without overwhelming the passengers. 

The most exciting interior features will have to be the smart glass and freeform display. The smart glass roof is a four-quadrant, suspended-particle device that can give the cabin easy access to the sky above. The four-quadrant divide offers each passenger to choose how much of a spotlight they want, changing the transparency of the ceiling itself. The pillar-to-pillar freeform display with active privacy was designed to minimize any distractions the driver may experience. For even more peace within the cabin, rear passengers will have access to their own entertainment screens. 

The CELESTIQ’s debut doesn’t have a set date yet, but more information and more complete pictures are presumed to be available towards the end of summer 2022.
